Privacy

SetSpinner has no advertising and no analytics, and you can use it without an account. Without an account it sets no cookies of its own. This page explains which data still moves when you use the site.
Who is responsible
SetSpinner is responsible for this website. For questions or requests, contact privacy@setspinner.com.
YouTube
SetSpinner uses YouTube API Services to find and show DJ sets. By playing a set you also use YouTube, so the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy apply.
- Thumbnails: images come from YouTube's servers, so Google can see your IP address and browser details when a page with a thumbnail opens.
- Player: the YouTube player only loads after you press play or Spin. It runs in YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode, but YouTube can still set cookies and collect playback data once it plays.
- Automatic play: after your first click, sets start and continue automatically while the player is visible, which shares playback data with YouTube for those sets as well.
We store public information about videos, such as title, duration and view count. We do not access or store any YouTube account data, and we do not send YouTube any data about you ourselves.
Your history and saved sets
While you are not signed in, your history and saved sets stay in your own browser (local storage) and are not sent to us. Clearing your browser's site data removes them. When you sign in, they move to your account and are removed from that browser.
Your account
An account is optional. It holds your email address, your crates and the sets in them, the last 50 sets you played and when, who you follow, any suggestions you send us, and the technical sign-in data that comes with an account, such as when you last signed in.
- Sign-in codes: your email address goes to our email delivery provider to send you a code. To stop automated abuse, the sign-in page can use Cloudflare Turnstile, in which case Cloudflare processes your IP address and browser details on that page.
- Cookies: signing in sets three cookies (ss_access, ss_refresh and ss_signed_in) that keep you signed in, for up to 30 days. Signing out removes them.
- Storage: we keep this data until you delete your account. You can do that yourself on the Crates page, which removes your email address, crates, history, follows, suggestions and taste profile straight away. You can also remove sets from your history one by one.
My Taste
My Taste is off until you turn it on. While it is on, we count how often you play each set while signed in, and when you last played it. We use this only to show you your own profile and to pick sets for you in the For you mode. Nobody else sees it, and we do not share it. Turning My Taste off deletes the profile straight away.
Community
The Most saved list shows how many people saved a set to a crate, never who. A set only appears once at least two people have saved it. Suggestions you send are linked to your account, and only we read them.
Hosting
The site runs on Vercel, which processes technical request data such as IP addresses to deliver pages and keep the service secure. Accounts and everything linked to them are stored with Supabase, which also runs our catalog database.
Why this is allowed
Delivering and securing the site is based on our legitimate interest. Accounts, crates and follows are based on the agreement you enter into when you sign in. My Taste is based on your consent, which you can withdraw by turning it off. Loading the YouTube player happens because you choose to play a set. Google, Vercel, Supabase, Cloudflare and our email delivery provider may process data outside the EU under their own safeguards.
Your rights
You can ask us for access to, correction of or deletion of personal data we hold about you, and you can object to processing. You can also file a complaint with the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
